Torch Us is a five piece Finnish melodic death metal band from Turku, formed in 2022. After the debut EP "Derailed" in 2024, the band returns with "Intensity", released through Inverse Records. Torch Us runs on raw aggression, dark melodies and heavy riffs that smell of old school sweat and concrete basements. No frills, no sugar coating, just metal with scars.

"Intensity" sounds angry, focused and emotionally stripped down. The riffs come in thick layers, grim and cold, with a strong melodic edge that never turns soft. The band pushes crushing rhythms straight into the chest, while the darker grooves drag everything into a bleak mental space. The writing stays sharp and aggressive, with enough variation to keep things tense and hostile all the way through.

Vocals are delivered with pure unfiltered emotion, harsh and personal, like someone emptying their lungs after a long bad night. Mikko Nurmi sounds convincing because nothing feels acted or dressed up. The vocal lines ride the riffs instead of floating above them, locking everything into a single heavy mass. The result is intense without slipping into chaos or polish.

What makes "Intensity" work is how committed it sounds. This EP sticks to its vision and pushes it hard. The sound is rough, dark and heavy, built for fans who want their melodic death metal serious and punishing. Torch Us sounds hungry and dangerous here, and that hunger keeps the EP gripping from beginning to end.
