Cruel Force |Haneda |Shadow Kingdom Records

Release Date March 27th, 2026
Format CD/LP/Cassette
Genre Speed Metal
Country Germany

Cruel Force erupted out of Germany in 2008 playing ruthless black thrash. They dropped their debut demo and quickly became underground legends. Their first two full-length albums, "The Rise Of Satanic Might" and "Under The Sign Of The Moon", cemented their status among maniacs worldwide. The guys vanished into the shadows for a long time after that second attack. They finally woke up from their slumber in 2022 with the "Across The Styx" EP and completely destroyed everything in 2023 with "Dawn Of The Axe". Now they return on Shadow Kingdom Records for their fourth full-length strike.

"Haneda" takes the total speed metal destruction of their previous album and injects massive doses of epic mysticism. The early blackened days are mostly gone, replaced by a pure, lethal heavy metal assault. The guitars shred through blistering riffs and ripping solos, pushing the speed into the red zone. "Whips A Swinging" and "Sword Of Iron" deliver face-melting velocity mixed with massive, epic melodies. These guys play like absolute maniacs. They merge pure thrashing rage with colossal, grand scale heavy metal majesty.

The sound on "Haneda" completely rules. The production is gigantic and totally natural, capturing the essence of the glorious eighties. The drums explode like artillery fire, and the guitars maintain a savage, ripping distortion. The music drags you across ancient temples, dead deserts, and frozen mountains. "Crystal Skull" and "Savage Gods" deliver intense mystical atmospheres. Everything sounds organic, massive, and entirely genuine.

Cruel Force totally annihilates with this release. The songs are fast, vicious, and insanely memorable. "Titan's Awakening" and the massive title track "Haneda" prove these warriors operate on an absolute elite level. They fuse lethal thrash metal speed with towering traditional metal glory. This album requires maximum volume and demands total worship. "Haneda" is an absolute triumph of heavy metal destruction.

Crimson Coven | -0- The Genesis | Shadow Kingdom Records

Crimson Coven step forward from obscurity with their debut EP “-0- The Genesis”, released by Shadow Kingdom Records. The band’s exact origins remain hidden, yet what they deliver here feels like a fully realized statement. Their sound carries echoes of traditional heavy metal and epic doom, drawing inspiration from the grandeur of myth and the weight of ancient tales.

The EP runs just under twenty minutes and opens with a brief spoken intro, “Genesis (Intro)”, which acts as a gate into the world Crimson Coven are creating. What follows are three lengthy compositions that embody a style rooted in heavy riffing, melodic guitar interplay, and a dramatic vocal performance that lends a sense of the theatrical. The atmosphere throughout the EP is one of grandeur, conjuring images of myth and legend. Each part of the instrumentation contributes to this — guitars rising in unison, bass providing depth and resonance, and drums carrying the songs with steady power..

The title track “Crimson Coven” makes an immediate impression with its proud and heavy delivery, setting the overall character of the release. “The Born Of The Serpents” extends this atmosphere further, its measured pacing and dark aura painting visions of ritual and ancient powers. The closing piece “Unleash The Kraken” stands as the longest, unfolding with grandeur and carrying the listener through rising waves of intensity. Vocals remain central throughout, high and spectral, sounding as if they are calling across time itself.

The production balances weight and space, allowing the instruments to sound powerful without overwhelming each other. It emphasizes the band’s intent to create something majestic and ominous, an atmosphere that feels larger than the length of the EP might suggest.

As a first impress, “-0- The Genesis” leaves a lasting mark. It feels like the unveiling of a band with a strong vision, one that takes traditional heavy and doom elements and channels them into something evocative and dramatic. For listeners drawn to epic tales, heavy riffs, and commanding vocals, this EP offers a promising and immersive beginning.

VOID | Forbidden Morals | Shadow Kingdom Records

Void is a thrash metal band from Lafayette, Louisiana, formed in 2021. In a short span of time, they’ve managed to create a distinctive identity in the underground scene, beginning with digital singles and the impressive debut album "Horrors Of Reality" in 2023. Their style combines classic thrash with eerie, gothic themes and elaborate storytelling. After catching the eye of Shadow Kingdom Records, the band reissued their debut and followed it with the "Return Of The Phantom" 7", further establishing their unique aesthetic rooted in horror and medieval imagery.

"Forbidden Morals" is the second full-length release from Void, and it continues the band’s rise with even more ambition and power. Spanning 10 tracks and clocking in at 46 minutes, this album deepens the band’s dark fantasy universe—filled with haunted castles, phantoms, and ancient curses—while delivering aggressive and fast-paced thrash metal.

The atmosphere is strong and consistent from start to finish. Guitars are aggressive and tight, with complex riffs and solos that feel inspired by the golden age of late ‘80s thrash and bands like Toxik and Realm. The drums are intense and precise, pushing the tempo in dynamic bursts. Vocals are theatrical and expressive, adding character and personality without going over the top. There is a clear structure to the songs that makes the album sound flawless.

Songs like "Forbidden Morals," "Gateways Of Stone," and "By Silver Light" carry a strong energy, while the closer "Beneath... Lives The Impaler" stands out with its epic length and sprawling structure. The reappearance of "Return Of The Phantom" connects the past and present for those who followed the band early on.

This is an album built with care and imagination. It has the raw force of traditional thrash metal but leans into storytelling and fantasy elements with confidence. For fans of Testament, Forbidden, Megadeth, Annihilator, Toxik, or Realm, "Forbidden Morals" feels like a natural discovery—something familiar yet very much its own.

Void continues to evolve, and with this release, they are solidifying a sound and visual world that sets them apart in today’s metal scene. They’ve moved far beyond the early buzz and now seem fully in control of their creative direction.

Score: 8.8

Void | Horrors Of Reality | Shadow Kingdom Records (Reissue)

Void is a thrash metal band from Lafayette, Louisiana, formed in 2021. Led by vocalist Jackson Davenport, the band features Gabe Lejeune and Alexandre Bernard on guitars, Logan Davenport on bass, and Aaron Landry on drums. After a handful of digital singles, the band independently released their debut album, "Horrors Of Reality," on February 1, 2023. The release caught underground attention for its sharp precision and compositional density. In 2025, Shadow Kingdom Records reissued the album, expanding its reach with a full physical release in multiple formats.

"Horrors Of Reality" runs for 40 minutes and consists of ten tracks that draw deeply from a well-established thrash lineage. Void takes cues from both more mainstream and obscure thrash metal acts of the late ‘80s. What separates this album from imitation is its cohesion and confident delivery. The production avoids excessive gloss, sticking with a balanced, mid-fidelity approach that retains character without sacrificing clarity. The guitars weave through intricate arrangements without overcomplicating the core structure. The vocals carry a distinctly late-'80s character, presented with a dry intensity that avoids excess but maintains presence. Rhythmically, the band stays locked in, and the bass is neither buried nor overly emphasized—it simply occupies its place, contributing to the overall shape of the sound.

There is a sense of full commitment to the genre’s core mechanics throughout "Horrors Of Reality." The compositions shift frequently, with multiple tempo changes and riff transitions, yet they avoid becoming bloated. There is no attempt at genre fusion, no breaks for dramatic pauses or ambient intros, just consistent forward motion. This gives the album a steady, tunnel-vision energy that suits the band’s approach. Every track feels like part of a singular, fully realized aesthetic vision. Whether faster or more mid-paced, the tone remains consistent—serrated but organized.

Despite being a debut, the album carries a level of technical control and songwriting discipline that avoids the common pitfalls of overreach. Void sounds like a band that knows its purpose and doesn't stray from it. The performances are tight, the tone decisions are thought-through, and the pacing is effective.

Without straining for emotional peaks or narrative arcs, "Horrors Of Reality" stands as a straightforward, intelligently built thrash metal album that neither bloats its runtime nor cuts itself short. The reissue is likely to bring more attention to a band whose early maturity is notable.

Savage Master | Dark & Dangerous | Shadow Kingdom Records

Formed in 2013 in Louisville, Kentucky, by guitarist Adam Neal and vocalist Stacey Savage, Savage Master quickly forged their own identity in the underground heavy metal revival scene. Rooted in classic horror aesthetics and inspired by the theatrics and sound of early '80s heavy metal, the band struck a balance between familiar tradition and dark spectacle. Over the course of a decade, they released a steady stream of material—albums, singles, and EPs—that kept their following loyal and growing. With 2019’s “Myth, Magic And Steel” and 2022’s “Those Who Hunt At Night,” the band tightened its vision and grew more confident in its songwriting, earning widespread recognition in the contemporary heavy metal circuit.

“Dark & Dangerous” is the band’s fifth full-length and easily their most confident and cohesive work. Expanding on the sonic groundwork laid on the previous album, the sound here strikes a mid-tempo march, forceful and unshakable, rooted in traditional heavy metal rhythms. The twin guitars push forward with deliberate weight, balancing sharp gallops with melodic turns that feel triumphant without leaning too far into sentimentality. There’s a strong sense of pacing across the album that keeps it grounded in its intent from start to finish.

Stacey Savage remains a central force. Her vocal presence—part sorceress, part warrior—brings the lyrics into a vivid place that blends personal anguish with occult fantasy. Her performance on “Dark & Dangerous” pushes both range and emotional resonance without abandoning the band’s signature sound. The production gives her the room to rise and recede where needed, keeping her voice tightly interwoven with the instrumentation.

Musically, “Dark & Dangerous” pays tribute to early metal in its purest form—bands like Judas Priest, Jag Panzer, and Omen are natural references—but without the fatigue of imitation. The riffs are compact and memorable, the solos fluid and spirited, and the drumming propels each track forward with conviction. The album never stalls or loses focus, even when it dips into more reflective moments. Songs like “I Never Wanna Fall In Love” add emotional weight without compromising the overall character, revealing another side of the band without making a sudden shift in tone.

The album is sequenced in a way that maintains flow without repeating ideas. From the opening call to ritual in “Three Red Candles” to the final breath of “Cold Hearted Death,” there's a consistency in mood and structure that reinforces the band’s sense of purpose. It’s clear that Savage Master has refined their sound not by changing direction, but by concentrating on what defines them. There’s no filler here—each song pulls its weight in keeping the listener inside the band’s shadowy world.

“Dark & Dangerous” doesn’t rely on gimmickry or nostalgia to make an impression. Its power lies in its steadiness. It moves with a heavy footstep, never hurried, never uncertain. Savage Master continues to write from the fringes of myth and personal struggle, but now with more command of their atmosphere and tone. The result is an album that feels timeless in its construction and honest in its presentation.

Score: 8/10
