Roth is the dark
German metal project led by mastermind Quentin Roth,
who handles basically everything, composing, playing all instruments,
producing, and mixing this beast himself. After the strong debut “Nachtgebete”,
he locked himself away for over four years to build its follow-up. His father M. Roth returns with that deep, menacing voice to
deliver the grim stories, giving the whole thing real emotional punch and that
signature edge fans dig. For the first time, Quentin
steps up to vocals on the four bonus tracks of the Mediabook CD edition, which
should shut up anyone who kept asking for it.
“Alles Endet” delivers twelve tracks of cold,
macabre German metal packed with grim tales, heavy riffs, violent builds, and
some folk-tinged darkness, all wrapped in a modern, crushing production that Quentin shaped from start to finish. Guest leads from Cedric Roß rip through songs like “Am Leben”,
“Stirb!”, “Zahle Den Preis”, and “Leiche Im Schrank”, adding extra aggression
where it counts. The sound hits hard and clear after Markus
Stock's mastering, no mud, just raw force that backs up the oppressive
atmosphere and fatalistic lyrics.
This one is solid, no doubt, Quentin's total control keeps things consistent and
focused, and the mix of melodies, menace, and those emotional hooks from M. Roth's delivery works well enough to keep you
locked in for most of the run. The bonus tracks with Quentin's
own vocals bring a fresh twist too. That said, it stays pretty much in safe
territory, delivering exactly what you expect from this style without much
surprise or extra bite to make it stand out in the long run. Some moments drag
a bit, and while the heaviness is there, it doesn't always slam as viciously as
it could. It's a decent follow-up that does the job for fans of dark German
metal, but it lacks that killer spark to push it higher. Grab it if you're into
the vibe, but don't expect it to blow your mind.
Score: 6.0
