Impermanence |Anicca |Satanath Records/Sanatorio Records

Release Date: October 16th, 2025
Format: CD
Genre: Technical Death/Black Metal
Country: Poland

Emerging from the shadows of Kraków in late 2023, Impermanence is a fresh assault on the senses that fuses technical death metal precision with a cold black metal edge. These guys haven't wasted any time, already sharing stages with heavy hitters and even putting their aggression toward charity work for mental health. The lineup, Wojciech Wróbel, Paweł Hernik, Konrad Pieczara, Bartłomiej Fitas, and Mateusz Bednarz, has cooked up a debut that digs into the grim reality of human existence and the concept of "Anicca", which is all about the temporary nature of life.

"Anicca" is a solid slab of extremity that hammers home the idea of transience. The lyrics deal with the somber side of humanity, and the music follows suit with a cold, calculated aggression. If you dig the twisted sounds of Akercocke or the massive vibes of Sulphur Aeon, this band is going to be right up your alley. The songs are packed with different perspectives on human failure and the search for some kind of point to all this suffering. It’s a 35-minute trip through a world that is falling apart, and the band makes sure you hear the ticking of the clock while it happens.

The technicality on display here is impressive for a band this new. The guitars from Wróbel and Hernik are constantly shifting, creating a chaotic environment that matches the lyrical themes of instability. You can tell they put work into making these songs hit hard without needing to hide behind any studio tricks. It’s a raw look at how fragile we are, delivered with a nasty Polish death metal bite. Tracks like "Sorrodise" and "Spiritual War" show that they have the riffs to back up their high-concept Buddhist terminology.

This debut is a strong start for Impermanence. They’ve managed to capture a specific brand of misery that isn't just about mindless speed. There is a real focus on the darker aspects of being alive, and the execution is professional and mean. It’s clearly meant for those who actually care about the underground. If you want something that reflects the crumbling world around you with some serious fretwork, "Anicca" is a journey worth taking before your own time runs out.
