Ulver began in the early nineties in Norway, a group
of young musicians who moved from raw black metal to daring experiments later
in their life as a band. In their early days they were restless, hungry and
unfiltered. Their third album, “Nattens Madrigal” arrived as the most abrasive
chapter of that era, a work made with teeth clenched and instincts sharpened.
Garm and Haavard created the framework, with the rest of the line up shaping a
storm that still echoes through underground circles. This new edition brings
the album back into circulation in a striking physical format for collectors
who want something special.
Across the
eight tracks, the band builds a world made of speed, high tension and violent
expression, a world with wolves, forests and frost in its bones. The sound is
rough, and the performances are locked into a specific vision. The album may be
chaotic on the surface, but underneath it shows a band that knew exactly what
kind of storm they wanted to summon. The energy never softens. It holds the
listener in a state of confrontation, with each movement pushing forward with
unbroken intensity.
