DET (Destructive Elite
Terror) come from Helsinki and bring together musicians with experience
in underground names like Excuse, Ranger, and Cryogenic.
Formed in 2022, the trio moved fast with demos and live shows across Europe and
beyond, sharpening their sound before finally delivering their debut album
“Destructive Elite Terror” through Dying Victims
Productions. The band plays as a power-trio, with Atte on bass, Miikka on
drums and vocals, and Jari on guitars and
vocals, keeping things stripped down and fierce.
“Destructive
Elite Terror” runs a little over 40 minutes and wastes no time getting into
high-speed territory. The album switches between speed-driven assaults and
darker, black-soaked passages, with occasional nods to early proto-black
influences. Songs like “Annihilation” and “Bloodshed” burn fast and leave only
ashes, while tracks such as “Serpentine” or the title cut stretch out longer
ideas, giving the album a bit of air before diving back into the chaos. The
riffs are raw and direct, carrying a sense of urgency that suits the
underground spirit of the album.
“Destructive
Elite Terror” is a debut that captures the essence of speed and black metal in
its primitive, violent form. It doesn’t pretend to be anything more than that,
and in doing so, it hits exactly where it should. For fans of raw underground
fury, DET deliver an album that feels like
it was built to be played live, loud, and without mercy.
