Exelerate is a Danish power/thrash band formed
in Copenhagen. They made a strong impression with their self-titled debut in
2023, which blended fast thrash riffing with melodic power metal. Known for
their sharp live performances and a strong presence in the European metal
scene, the band has steadily gained attention for their energetic sound and
professional songwriting. Their music often features high-pitched vocals,
blazing solos, and a traditional yet modern metal feel.
With “Hell For The Helpless,” Exelerate take a confident step forward. This
second album expands their style without losing the energy and speed that made
their debut so engaging. The band keeps their foundation firmly in place—fast
thrash rhythms and powerful vocals—but adds more atmosphere and lyrical depth.
Across ten songs, the album touches on topics related to the human mind, including stress, fear, and emotional struggle. While this could feel heavy, the delivery keeps things moving. The mix of high-speed passages and strong, melodic sections gives the listener both excitement and room to breathe. The vocals are clear and high, the guitars are fast and dramatic, and the rhythm section stays tight throughout. It’s all very direct, and it’s easy to follow and enjoy.
The production quality is strong. It sounds
full without being overdone, and the performances feel tight. There's a clear
sense of direction in each song, and the flow between tracks is smooth. The
band has also taken care with the visual side—the artwork reflects the themes
of the album well, adding another layer for those who enjoy the physical
format.
“Hell For The Helpless” feels more focused and planned out. The songs are written for full-album listening, with several moments that will likely work well in a live setting too. Fans of 80s and 90s-influenced metal will find that the balance between speed and melody is handled well, and the themes make it more than just another thrash revival release.
