Tria Prima is an alchemical death metal band from Zhytomyr, Ukraine, formed in September 2024 by musicians with deep roots in the Ukrainian extreme metal underground. Members and collaborators have passed through bands such as Drudkh, Lucifugum, Blood Of Kingu, Bestial Invasion, Cosmic Jaguar and Violent Omen. The band builds its identity around alchemy as philosophy and symbolism, translating its stages and symbols into heavy, ceremonial death metal shaped by doom gravity and dark atmospheric layers. In a very short time, Tria Prima released their first EP and moved straight into the creation of their debut full length, showing a clear artistic direction and strong conceptual focus.
“The Mortificatio” expands Tria Prima’s alchemical worldview into a full-length format, focusing on decay, dissolution and transformation. The album develops a darker and more elaborate narrative, with songs structured around long, deliberate movements that emphasize heaviness and depth. doom-laden passages play a central role, giving the album a solemn and ceremonial character.
The compositions rely on layered riffs and restrained tempo shifts, creating a thick sonic environment that remains consistent throughout the album. Vocals sit deep within the mix, reinforcing the arcane atmosphere and keeping the focus on the collective sound.
