Genre: Thrash Metal

Toxic Soul is a thrash metal band from Guayaquil, Ecuador, active since 2010. Formed by musicians shaped by underground scenes and social unrest, the band built its identity around aggressive riffs and lyrics drawn from disasters, disease, and social decay. Lineup changes and years of persistence across Guayaquil and Quito hardened their approach. After demos and a pre-album “En Estado De Descomposición” (In A State Of Decomposition), the band entered 2025 ready to release their first full length, shaped by experience, loss, and stubborn survival.

“Visiones Putrefactas” arrives as a full length debut that sounds rooted in street level thrash values. The album follows a clear thematic line, focusing on collapse, control, sickness, and violence, all filtered through a raw South American lens. The language stays confrontational and grounded, matching the overall tone of the music. There is no distraction from the core idea, the album stays focused on aggression and protest as its main fuel.

Musically, the album has a fast and hostile pulse, driven by sharp riffing and relentless drumming. The guitars favor classic thrash patterns, cutting and repetitive in a deliberate way, while the rhythm section keeps everything pressing forward. Vocals sit front and center, barking out the lyrics with urgency and anger, reinforcing the album’s hostile atmosphere without drifting into excess.

The songwriting follows traditional thrash structures, with an emphasis on momentum and impact. The tracks rely on energy and continuity, maintaining pressure throughout the album. Lyrical themes such as epidemics, police brutality, and extinction mirror real world anxieties, giving the album a confrontational social edge that fits the band’s history and environment.

“Visiones Putrefactas” works as a solid statement of where Toxic Soul stands in 2025. It reflects years of underground persistence and channels frustration into a coherent release that stays loyal to the genre’s core values. The album delivers a clear picture of a band shaped by chaos and resistance, presenting their debut with force and consistency.

Score: 8.3
