Strigiform emerge from the
Italian underground as a new formation shaped by experienced hands, featuring
members tied to Vertebra Atlantis, Afraid Of Destiny and Thirst
Prayer. The project took years of private development before surfacing,
and that long incubation shows in the way ideas are layered and shaped. “Aconite”
arrives as a debut album built on obsession, inner pressure and a strong focus
on atmosphere without drifting into abstraction for its own sake.
“Aconite”
unfolds as a continuous inward descent, driven by warped riffing and restless
rhythmic shifts. The songwriting favors tension and release through contrast,
with sections that twist, recede and resurface in altered forms. The album
speaks in a language rooted in black and death metal, filtered through a
surreal lens that keeps the listener alert. Nothing here aims at comfort, the
material presses forward with an uneasy pull that mirrors the psychological
themes described by the band.
“Aconite”
stands as a solid example of the vitality within the Italian extreme metal
scene, especially its more experimental corners. The album demands attention
and patience, rewarding listeners who accept its inward gaze and unsettling
tone. It presents Strigiform as a band with a
clear artistic identity already formed at birth.
