Rogga Johansson has spent three decades moving
through the Swedish death metal underground with steady discipline. From the
early days with Terminal Grip to the long
road with Paganizer, his name has become
part of the genre’s everyday vocabulary. He is the kind of musician who keeps
writing, recording, and pushing forward, not because he chases attention, but
because this is his natural habitat. That history shapes "Dreaming The Otherwhere",
an album created with Kjetil Lynghaug, Johan Berglund and Jon
Rudin, all of them locked into the same direction.
"Dreaming
The Otherwhere" has a straight forward presence from the beginning. The
riffs come in heavy and raw force, the vocals cut through with that gravel
soaked tone Rogga has made his signature,
and the songs keep a solid pace without drifting into excess. Instead of trying
to dress their sound in strange colors or modern tricks, the band move with a
grounded attitude, focusing on muscular riff work and firm rhythmic push. The
guitars churn out those thick Swedish patterns, the drums keep everything
tight, and the bass adds extra weight in the right moments.
By the time
it reaches its end, "Dreaming The Otherwhere" stands as a solid
addition to Rogga’s vast catalog. It does
not rely on nostalgia and it does not chase trends. It sounds like seasoned
musicians doing what they know best with focus and honesty. Fans of Paganizer, Edge Of
Sanity or Godgory will find familiar
ground here, delivered with craft that reflects long experience.
