Kaunis Kuolematon has been carving their path since 2012, shaping a sound rooted in
sorrow, intensity, and the cold poetry that Finnish metal does so well. Coming
from Hamina and keeping the same lineup through their entire journey, the band
has grown slowly and steadily. Their albums from “Kylmä Kaunis Maailma” to
“Mielenvalta” show a clear evolution, always tied to emotional depth and heavy
atmosphere. After earning strong chart positions and building a devoted
audience, the group arrives with their fifth album, “Kun Valo Minussa Kuoli”, via
Noble Demon, stepping further into the world
of melodic doom and melodic death metal.
There is a strong
emotional current running through the whole album. Kaunis
Kuolematon handles sadness in a grounded way, without softening the
heaviness or overloading the music with unnecessary flourishes. The sound keeps
its focus on sorrow, struggle, endurance, and that quiet glow that many Finnish
bands bring forward when dealing with dark themes. The songs feel connected,
forming a narrative that invites the listener into the band’s bleak world. The
melodic doom parts hit with cold beauty and the death metal side gives the
album its harder edges.
