Helloween | Giants & Monsters | Reigning Phoenix Music

Release Date: August 29, 2025
Format: CD/LP/Digital
Genre: Power Metal
Country: Germany

Helloween walks into their 40th year with “Giants & Monsters” on RPM, carrying the classic line up that brought back the spark on the 2021 self titled album. With millions of albums behind them and a career that helped shape European metal, the band now moves into this new chapter with experience, stamina and the instinct of a band that knows exactly who they are. Produced by Denis Ward and Charlie Bauerfeind, and dressed in striking artwork by Eliran Kantor, the album arrives as a celebration of everything that made these Germans a worldwide name.

The band fires up immediately with “Giants On The Run”, a track that reminds listeners why the triple vocal force of Deris, Kiske and Hansen works so well. The album switches through power metal branches without hesitation, from speed runs full of energy to melodic moments that aim straight for big choruses. “A Little Is A Little Too Much” opens the door for Deris and Kiske to stand tall together, a track that brings personal storytelling into Helloween’s usual larger than life territory. “This Is Tokyo” bursts with the kind of bright character Hansen always carried in his songwriting, a tribute with warmth and plenty of heart.

“Universe (Gravity For Hearts)” stretches into longer ground, letting melodic ideas grow while guitars weave around strong vocal lines, almost like the band is painting a larger scene behind the music. “Majestic” follows the same adventurous spirit, with Hansen driving the track toward wide melodic passages and big metal punches. “Into The Sun” breaks things open with full emotion, Deris and Kiske turning the duet into one of the album’s most memorable moments. Right after that comes “Savior Of The World” and “Under The Moonlight”, both stamped with Weikath’s melodic signature, bringing a classic touch that long time fans will recognize instantly.

Throughout the album, the seven members work together with precision and clear direction. The guitar trio trades ideas smoothly, the rhythm section stays strong and steady, and the three vocalists push the songs upward instead of pulling them apart. Helloween doesn’t play it safe, they simply let their decades of chemistry do the heavy lifting. “Giants & Monsters” comes across as the work of a band that still enjoys creating metal anthems and has no reason to slow down. After four decades, they sound lively, focused and fully committed to keeping their legacy burning.

Score: 9.0
