Sacrosanct | Kidron | Rpm-Roar

On “Kidron”, Sacrosanct delivers a dense, reflective, and at times stirring work that comfortably straddles progressive intricacy and thrash-rooted aggression. The band’s return with new vocalist Max Morton proves not only seamless but defining: his voice adds a clear, emotional gravity to the record’s lyrical and melodic aspirations. The production, also helmed by Morton, is transparent and organic, granting the instrumentation enough space to breathe while ensuring rhythmic power is preserved—especially in the drum and guitar interplay.

Musically, “Kidron” is ambitious but controlled. Its songwriting is complex without losing cohesion. The transitions between clean atmospheres and heavier segments are smooth, avoiding excess or pretension. Melancholy is a key thematic and emotional component, and the album succeeds in projecting it without resorting to melodrama.

While not genre-defining, “Kidron” is genre-faithful and compositionally rich. It doesn't strive to reinvent the wheel, but it doesn't recycle one either. Instead, Sacrosanct delivers a focused, emotionally resonant, and sonically balanced release that rewards multiple listens.

A mature, intelligent album that fuses melodic introspection with disciplined heaviness. Not groundbreaking, but artistically consistent and executed with care.

Score: 7.5/10
