Vinnfrost are a melodic death metal band from Kuusamo, Finland, formed in 2016 near the Arctic Circle. Drawing inspiration from long polar nights and frozen northern landscapes, the band debuted with the album “Initiation” in 2019. “Frost Requiem” marks their return after a period of silence and presents the band in a focused, mature phase of their path.

The current line-up includes Jukka Mursu on vocals, Jaakko Nevala on drums, Lauri Autioniemi and Antti Viitala on guitars, and Lasse Limma on bass. “Frost Requiem” was recorded and mixed by Jukka Mursu and mastered by Mika Jussila at Finnvox Studios, a detail that reflects in the solid and balanced sound. The EP runs short and sharp, focusing on atmosphere and songwriting without unnecessary detours.

Musically, “Frost Requiem” blends melodic death metal with darker, colder shades rooted in the Finnish extreme metal tradition.
